A CELEBRATION OF WHO WE ARE!
What do balloons, banners, baptisms and the belly of a
whale have to with each other? They are all going to be a part of our
Pentecost Celebration this coming Sunday!
Our day will start with our regular 8am service – with everyone wearing
red of course! We will then forego our 9am service and instead gather
for our Annual Meeting. This will be a great time to gather and
celebrate our 2008-2009 program year, share ideas with vestry members
for the 2009-2010 program year and to give thanks for those who have
served.
At 10am the big show begins! The children and the youth along with the
leaders of our faith community have been working hard to provide an
incredible worship service that will include baptisms. Our youngest
members will be leading every aspect of the service from prayers to
praise, from song to sermon.
Our time together at 10am will also be a time to give thanks for the
many who have shared their gifts for ministry particularly with respect
to our worship and education. There will also be the opportunity to
return thanks to God for the abundance of our blessings as we offer our
time, talent and treasure at the offertory. Oh, and don’t forget your
little blue UTO box filled to the brim with all your thanksgivings!
Our fellowship will then move into the parish hall where we all will be
treated – as if they haven’t already done enough!- by our Sunday school
teachers who are providing the goodies at coffee hour.
Please, please, please join us this Sunday as we Celebrate who we are as
a faith community!
Blessings,

The Rev. Brian N. Prior, Rector
