ABUNDANCE OF BLESSINGS
In the entire time that I have been ordained, a week has
not passed when someone has said to me, “I am so blessed.”
Rarely are these proclamations coming from someone who has “won the
lottery” per se. In fact, often it is in times of great crises or, at a
minimum, significant difficulties that folks seem to have these
transformational epiphany moments where they recognize and acknowledge
their blessings.
The love of the Lord, our faith community, family, friends and pets in
no particular order are what I hear consistently. I also have heard on
more than a few occasions a person describe how blessed they felt
because of the opportunity to reach out and help others.
As you are well aware, each and every week individuals, family and
friends stand up at our worship services and share thanksgiving for the
blessing of another year of life, another year of love, for prayers,
healing, visits from love ones, and on and on the list goes.
It is truly inspiring to be surrounded by folks, again often amidst very
challenging times, proclaiming the abundance of God’s blessings in their
lives.
During the month of May as we prepare for our annual meeting and our
annual giving we are blessed to have a variety of members sharing with
us the abundance of blessings in their lives.
I hope, like me, you will be inspired by their blessings to be even more
aware of the abundance of blessings in your life.
Blessings,

The Rev. Brian N. Prior, Rector
